What Is Evil? Theological & Philosophical Investigations

We all know evil when we encounter it—the villains of history, routine brutality in the news, hateful violence of sociopaths. Using a twentyfirst century, postmodern perspective, we will investigate what evil is, why it exists in history and the human heart, and how we might best respond.

Carl Gregg is the minister of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Frederick. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Furman University, with a B.A. in Religion and Philosophy. He earned a M.Div. from Brite Divinity School and a D.Min. from San Francisco Theological Seminary.
